With hurricane Sonia bearing down on us this Sunday, guess who is supposed to be working on Defiant Monday, the steel guy, timing could not be worse.

Woke up Sunday morning to the announcement that we are going to be hit by hurricane Sonia sometime today thru the next 24 hours. Time to tie all down and prepare. I will update. Last night we went to a day of the dead parade in historic Mazatlan, very much fun, to big of a crowd to get close to the free beer. The beer was served out of a cart, pulled by a mule fallowed by a huge crowd of the waling dead. Canvas and steel projects still ongoing, should have update Monday, Yesterday we walked the beach from the marina to Bruja beach it was gorgeous brunch was only 60 pesos each. lots of cruisers starting to arrive here for the season. Time change yesterday, after six weeks of trying to get my canvas guy and steel guy onsite, they both decide to come on the same day. I hope they come today!!! The humidity has drop and it is quite nice temp now. I will let you know. I am trying to get my steel project finished and my canvas project started. It has been two weeks of waiting and still no work, they said they would start last week??? Other than that all is well here still waiting for the heat to break 33c daytime 23c nighttime. It is another beautiful day here, 33 degrees and sunny. The boat is feeling like home again and the old routine is coming back. We will be staying here for the time being as this years projects are taking a while to get done, I forgot to mention to everyone That we arrived safely and on time thanks to Alaska Airlines and Sarah. Hurricane Manuel brushed by the other day, two days of rain and wind, we discovered a few more leaks. All is well here, we are still waiting for the humidity to break. It is great to be back, Defiant08 is in great shape and welcoming. The weather on the other hand has been tough, first humidity at 100% and mid ninety’s for temp. We hope the humidity will break soon. The flight down was a surprise Alaska had great service quick turnaround at LAX and cheap upgrades to first class from LAX to Mazatlan |
